A Quick Note about BUYING
Re/Dress NYC is a buy * sell * trade resale establishment.
We are like Beacon's Closet or Buffalo Exchange here in nyc, except that we specialize in larger sizes and have a cultivated vintage selection as well.
We buy the contemporary and vintage clothing you bring into the store based on our style, size and seasonal needs. You can find a listing of what we need posted on this site or from our sales associates if you call in.
Since we are brand new, we might have a few kinks to work out, but we will try to make the experience as easy as possible. Bring in your clean, salable clothing, shoes and accessories up until 1/2 hour before closing. We will select any items we would like to buy and you will receive either cash or store credit on the spot. In the near future it will be possible for you to donate any unwanted items to a charity such as various women's shelters around NYC.
Buying for Winter
Winter Coats + Jackets
Sweaters
Dresses
Boots
+ wintery accessories
fitting a size 14 and above...
in excellent condition + neatly folded or on hangers.
For tax purposes we require all sellers to show their government issued photo i.d. as the customer is our vendor. Sorry, no exceptions, but we can add your preferred name to the account if you use a name that is different from the one on your id. Your information will not be shared with other companies or used for any kind of promotion.

Black Friday + Shopping for a Cause
Re/Dress is opening at NOON on Friday 11/28 - cue iconic High Noon music.
Outside of the sheer bliss that shopping at Re/Dress will bring you, I would also like to share a cool shopping opportunity that you might want to partake of on Saturday/Sunday.
Big Moves, an amazing organization dedicated to size positive dance, is having a fundraiser called Big Beautiful Bargains.
November 29th + 30th, 2008
10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Knitting Factory Club 74 Leonard St NY, NY 10013 (Five blocks so. of Canal, btw. Broadway and Church)
Admission: $5 at the door.
Plus-size clothes shopping, for a good cause! Tons of vendor tables, with clothing from size 16-5X at below bargain prices.
For details, or to inquire about vending opportunities, send email to [email protected]
https://www.myspace.com/425615629
and also my fabulous neighbor a few blocks south, Lee Lee's Valise is having a crazy Black Friday sale from 9am to 9pm.
If I wasn't opening a store that day, I might go to their sale, have a lovely treat on Smith Street at Bar Tabac, yummy sushi at Ki Sushi or a delish lunch special from Coco Rocco, mmmm maduros, and then round the corner to Boerum Place and check out the new and exciting Re/Dress.
If we're going to indulge in the shopping madness that is Black Friday, we might as well do it right, do it local, and do it where we're treated like we're special, because we are.

Re/Dress STILL coming soon!
It's been a million years yes.
No the store STILL isn't open.
Opening a store in nyc isn't for the faint of heart.
But we should have an update soon!
Here's some gorgeous pictures from the Nolose conference where we sold some amazing vintage goodies and styles from Bertha Pearl's Size Queen Clothing line.
