Fashion Week Is Upon Us

Fashion Week has descended on NYC once again, and we'll be tweeting and seeing the super stylish 7th Avenue + celebrities all over the place.

In Brooklyn we're putting together our own Fashion Week with an Indie Designer Trunk Show Saturday September 12th. These 3 fashion designers from NYC and two local jewelry + accessory designers will be setting up shop and taking over Re/Dress NYC for the day.

This means two things:
1. There well be NO BUYING on Saturday the 12th. If you bring your items in to sell, we will tag them and get to them on Sunday.

2. Unfortunately you can't use your store credit to buy from these designers as they're independent from the rest of the boutique, but we will be accepting credit cards for sales of their stuff. And you can always use your credit for any Re/Dress owned goodies.

Another wild + wonderful Fashion Week themed event at Re/Dress NYC is our Glutton for Fatshion Zine release party Friday Sept 11th, 8pm. Free! Taueret + Erin created this zine about fatshion from a radical pov and we're throwing them a party!

Please Help Our Trunk Show

Hi everyone. I'm sure I don't have to tell you it's a brutal world for the plus size shopper and it's even more brutal for the plus size designer. There are a lot of wonderful designers who make or want to make plus size clothing and don't have the industry and media support that other straight size designers have. We saw a lot of terrific designers at FFFWeek and we're going to be showcasing 3 other indie/retro-inspired designers at our trunk show on September 12th.

I've been sending out information all over the place and getting very little interest. It's hard to compete with Fashion Night Out or Fashion Week. But I don't want to let our designers down. So I'm appealing to everyone to pass the word onto any of your curvy fashionista friends. This is a one time only opportunity to see these designers in NYC. They're worth checking out. Even if the cold cruel world of fashion doesn't care about us, we can care about each other and maybe they'll catch up and get wise.
