1. Stylish, Comfortable, Cheap Construction, Hand Wash Only

   Four stars to this dress, minus one for popping seams at the waist the first time I tried it on! I'm not a water buffalo up top, although I have a 47" bust, so I was deeply dismayed to hear the waist seams tear as I slipped this dress over my head and shoulders. The waist is elastic, very narrow, and appears to have been serge-stitched, which is really common for stretchy fabrics like this, but the thread pulled out in three places from what should be very normal use (it's the only way to get the damn dress on, after all).
   Despite my not inconsiderable issues with the stitch quality I really liked this dress on, even though I had neglected to read the fabric content before ordering so I was expecting cotton jersey. It's very soft, slightly shiny, with hilariously misspelled headlines, and very comfortable. The print and relatively thick fabric keep it opaque; I didn't have any visible panty line issues and couldn't see my undies through the fabric like other white fabrics, so it would be fancy work appropriate. I'd wear this to a semi-formal wedding or a day/night event and it could be dressed up or down accordingly. It's a little long on me but with low heels would probably just skim the floor. The pockets aren't huge but they're made of the same fabric as the dress so they don't spoil the line of the hip at all, and they could definitely hold a smartphone.
   I was disappointed to learn that it is handwash only (although that's better than dry clean only).
   All in all, although I'm disappointed with the construction issues and the fussy care required, I am pleased with the silhouette and overall stylish simplicity of the dress.
